New Torture Weapons Developed by Raytheon
With the harrowing cries of unjustly tasered University of Florida student Andrew Meyer still ringing in my ears, I was horrified to learn that “Merchant of Death” Raytheon Corporation has been quietly developing a new sort of “ray gun” (Orwellianly named the “Silent Guardian”). It seems that this that vile and sadistic contraption, devised no doubt with the darkest of motives, emits microwave radiation intended to literally burn people into submission — without leaving outward marks of the administered torture. A very convenient thing, it is said, to manage unruly crowds or other protesters.
Here are a few quotes from Michael Hanlon, who received a galvanizing sneak preview of the “Guardian’s” capabilities: 1
This machine has the ability to inflict limitless, unbearable pain.
It can throw a wave of agony nearly half a mile.
The agony the Raytheon gun inflicts is probably equal to anything in a torture chamber – these waves are tuned to a frequency exactly designed to stimulate the pain nerves.
When turned on, it emits an invisible, focused beam of radiation – similar to the microwaves in a domestic cooker – that are tuned to a precise frequency to stimulate human nerve endings.
What twisted minds spent innumerable hours of research, development, and testing to create thing? And who, pray tell, can be entrusted to use it justly? As Abu Ghraib and Guantanomo Bay reveal, the US Military has shown itself unable to restrain various war crimes (i.e., torture) committed by some of its regular soldiers. Are these same sorts of personnel who will be entrusted not to abuse the “Guardian” when they find themselves in the pressure-cooker of a riot situation?
Purportedly, this new “tool against terrorism” will be used to disperse angry mobs that are opposed to various forms of military intervention, but isn’t it possible that the “Guardian” will be used to deal with crowd control here in the USA? After all, tasers are now routinely used to deal with those who resist cooperation with the police. Is it inconceivable that this device could be used against Americans who resist orders to obey the government in a martial law situation?
At any rate, those who believe to Jesus do not live in fear of man or the “faces of men” (Jer. 1:18). We remember the deliverance given to those unjustly thrown into the fiery furnace of Nebuchadnezzar.
Demonic activity will become more and more frequent as the “birthpangs of Messiah” occur upon the earth. We are living in acharit hayamim – the end of days. But that does not mean we are comfortless or subject to the despair of the world. No indeed. Shall anything separate us from the love of God? Shall tribulation or distress or persecution or famine? As David said, “Though war should rise against me, in this will I be confident” (Psalm 27:3).
Be not afraid of their faces: for I am with thee to deliver thee, saith the LORD. – Jeremiah 1:8
The world’s tyrants and other merchants of death are on short notice – the LORD is returning soon. There will be a day of reckoning when all those who have refused to submit before Him in humility will be dashed to pieces. Maran ata. May that day come soon, when God shall wipe away all our tears, and we shall be free to worship Him forever.
