Children currently receive 49 doses of 14 vaccines before the age of six. Experts now claim more than one vaccine within a one-year period may be programming children for depression by creating over overactive immune systems.
Carmine Pariante and his team at King’s College London recently found that some people may be more biologically sensitive to triggers for depression, and that this heightened sensitivity could be spotted using a blood test.
“In the future, positively tested children could be immediately exempted from multiple vaccinations due to the known risk factors,” said infectious disease specialist Dr. Alla Anosov.
When Pariente’s team looked at blood samples, they found that specific individuals had altered patterns of gene expression before they even started taking a drug. These people seemed naturally to make more proteins that are involved in inflammation, oxidative stress and the death of neurons, and fewer proteins involved in brain cell growth. “Overall, this has a toxic effect on brain function,” said Pariante.
Inflammation in the body can be beneficial and detrimental. It is a mechanism resulting from the healing response, caused by the immune system targeting and protecting damaged tissue. But there is also mounting evidence that elevated levels of inflammation, specifically after vaccination, are linked to a number of serious acute and chronic illnesses.
The discovery that changes in gene expression are detectable before the onset of specific conditions could help predict how badly a child may respond to multiple vaccinations.
Dr. Anosov claims that not just one type, but all vaccinations are very problematic for the human immune system because they enter the body artificially through injection which fails to inhibit the inflammatory cascade–a series of rapid biochemical events which propagates and matures the inflammatory response.
When foreign pathogens enter the body naturally, specific segments of the immune system can better adapt to this response. “Children who receive more than one vaccination per year are primed for overactive immune systems and inflammatory processes that they cannot recover from,” stated Dr. Anosov. “This relates to proteins interacting with immune cells which do not compensate to the foreign agents delivered by injection and thus create the highest levels of inflammation possible within the human body.”
Researchers writing in Nature previously found these chemicals are also altering our gut microbiota composition and driving metabolic changes that lead to inflammatory conditions. Writing in a study in Cell, CU-Boulder Research Associate Dorota Porazinska and doctoral student Sophie Weiss showed how gut bacteria can ameliorate autism-like symptoms.
According to Annals of Allergy, Asthma and Immunology, Volume 95, Number 6, December 2005 , pp. 593-599(7), “it is of current relevance as a ‘hidden’ inductor of anaphylactoid reactions”, and “Polysorbate 80 was identified as the causative agent for the anaphylactoid reaction of nonimmunologic origin in the patient. The study included a pregnant woman who suffered anaphylactic shock after being given a IV drip of multi-vitamins containing polysorbate 80.
